Pet Friendly Investors Reap Rewards

By Krista Sharp

It’s no secret that today’s demand for pet friendly rental properties is at an all time high.  At Ray White MetroWest we have a particularly high demand for fenced houses where the investor owners will allow dogs.

“We meet many young professionals who are either single or in relationships, not quite ready for children, but devoted to their pets.  Therefore the demand for rental accommodation which allows for pets is strong and often results in a higher rental yield” Krista Sharp reported.

Some buildings have body corporate by-laws around whether pets are allowed and if so what type and what size and weight of animal would be allowed.  Always check with your body corporate by-laws prior to advertising your property to rent.

If you are an  investor we recommend giving careful consideration as to whether or not you wish to have pets occupy your property.  If you do, what type of pet/s would you allow?
